About Dr. Dojka

Dr. Denise M. Dojka (pronounced "Doy Ka") holds a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (Meadows Campus). She has held a license to practice Psychology in the state of Illinois since 1999.

She is one of only two individuals in the Chicago metropolitan area to hold a Practitioner’s Certificate for Advanced Training in Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) from the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute at the Stone Center of Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. RCT honors the importance of growth fostering connections for psychological well-being, while also looking at how one’s culture can contribute to feelings of isolation and disconnection. She is also a certified practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Levels I and II, and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), both of which are helpful with trauma and long standing patterns of emotional pain.

Dr. Dojka also has experience performing evaluations for couples preparing for adoption. Being an adoptive parent herself, she feels a special affinity to these couples as they prepare for this big event in their lives.
